RESUMO

The combination of auxetic honeycomb and CNT reinforcement composite is expected to further improve the impact protection performance of sandwich structures. This paper studies the low-velocity impact response of sandwich plates with functionally graded carbon nanotubes reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) face sheets and negative Poisson's ratio (NPR) auxetic honeycomb core. The material properties of FG-CNTRC were obtained by the rule of mixture theory. The auxetic honeycomb core is made of Ti-6Al-4V. The governing equations are derived based on the first-order shear deformation theory and Hamilton's principle. The nonlinear Hertz contact law is used to calculate the impact parameters. The Ritz method with Newmark's time integration schemes is used to solve the response of the sandwich plates. The (20/-20/20)s, (45/-45/45)s and (70/-70/70)s stacking sequences of FG-CNTRC are considered. The effects of the gradient forms of FG-CNTRC surfaces, volume fractions of CNTs, impact velocities, temperatures, ratio of plate length, width and thickness of surface layers on the value of the plate center displacement, the recovery time of deformation, contact force and contact time of low-velocity impact were analyzed in detail.

RESUMO

The long-term mechanical properties of viscoelastic polymers are among their most important aspects. In the present research, a machine learning approach was proposed for creep properties' prediction of polyurethane elastomer considering the effect of creep time, creep temperature, creep stress and the hardness of the material. The approaches are based on multilayer perceptron network, random forest and support vector machine regression, respectively. While the genetic algorithm and k-fold cross-validation were used to tune the hyper-parameters. The results showed that the three models all proposed excellent fitting ability for the training set. Moreover, the three models had different prediction capabilities for the testing set by focusing on various changing factors. The correlation coefficient values between the predicted and experimental strains were larger than 0.913 (mostly larger than 0.998) on the testing set when choosing the reasonable model.

RESUMO

A high-pressure pneumatic catapult works under extreme boundaries such as high-pressure and rapid change of pressure and temperature, with the features of nonlinearity and gas-solid convection. In the thermodynamics processes, the pressure is much larger than the critical pressure, and the compressibility factor can deviate from the Zeno line significantly. Therefore, the pneumatic performance and thermo-physical properties need to be described with the real gas hypothesis instead of the ideal gas one. It is found that the analytical results based on the ideal gas model overestimate the performance of the catapult, in comparison to the test data. To obtain a theoretical model with dynamic leakage compensation, leakage tests are carried out, and the relationship among the leakage rate, pressure and stroke is fitted. The compressibility factor library of the equation of state for compressed air is established and evaluated by referring it to the Nelson-Obert generalized compressibility charts. Based on the Peng-Robinson equation, a theoretical model of the high-pressure pneumatic catapult is developed, in which the effects of dynamic leakage and the forced convective heat transfer between the gas and the metal wall are taken into account. The results from the theoretical model are consistent with the data from ejection tests. This research presents an approach to study the performance of a high-pressure pneumatic catapult with high precision.

RESUMO

In this paper, the Eu3+ -Eu2+ (4%, molar ratio)-doped xAl2 O3 -ySiO2 (x = 0-2.5, y = 1-5) and xAl2 O3 -zMgO (x = 0-1.5, z = 0-3) composites phosphors with different Al2 O3 to SiO2 (A/S) and Al2 O3 to MgO (A/M) ratios were prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction under air atmosphere. The effects of the A/S and A/M on luminescence properties, crystal structure, electron spin resonance, and Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage chromaticity coordinates of the samples were systematically analyzed. These results indicated that the different A/S and A/M ratios in the matrix effectively affected the crystal phase, degrees of self-reduction of Eu3+ , and led the relative emission intensity of Eu2+ /Eu3+ to change and adjust.

RESUMO

The MgO-Ga2 O3 -SiO2 glasses and glass-ceramics samples doped with Eu2+ /Mn2+ /Er3+ and heated in reductive atmosphere were prepared by the sol-gel method. The structure, morphology and the luminescence properties were studied using X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscope, fluorescence spectra, and up-conversion emission. The luminescence characteristics of doped ions could be influenced by temperature and matrix component. The characteristic emission of Mn2+ , Eu2+ and Er3+ were seen and the energy transfer efficiency from Eu2+ to Mn2+ was enhanced as Mn2+ concentration was increased. In addition, the two-photon process was determined for the Er3+ -doped samples.

RESUMO

The BaZrx Si3 O7+2x :Eu2+ /Eu3+ (2%, molar ratio) phosphors were prepared with adding different amounts of zirconium dioxide (ZrO2 ) (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1) by a self-reduction method under air conditions. X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence properties, thermal quenching properties and luminescent lifetimes of the prepared samples were systematically analyzed. In BaZrx Si3 O7+2x :Eu2+ /Eu3+ , both the 4f â†’ 5d transitions of Eu2+ and sharp emissions assigned to 5 D0 → 7 FJ (J = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) transitions of Eu3+ were observed. In addition, the results also reveal that the amount of ZrO2 affects the crystal structure, the self-reduction process and further influences the relative intensity of Eu2+ /Eu3+ in all samples. Therefore, the diverse emission colors can be obtained and modulated by controlling the content of ZrO2 . The highlight of this work is that the white light emission is observed, when x is 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1, respectively.

RESUMO

In this paper, MAl2 Six O2x+4 :Eu2+ /Eu3+ (Eu2+ + Eu3+ = 2%, molar ratio; M = Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba; x = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2) phosphors with different SiO2 concentrations (the ratio of SiO2 to MAl2 O4 is n%, n = 0, 50, 100, 150, 200, respectively) were prepared by high-temperature solid-state reaction under atmospheric air conditions. Their structures and photoluminescent properties were systematically researched. The results indicate that Eu3+ ions have been reduced and Eu2+ ions are obtained in air through the self-reduction mechanism. The alkaline earth metal ions and doping SiO2 strongly affect the crystalline phase and photoluminescent properties of samples, including microstructures, relative intensity of Eu2+ to Eu3+ , location of emission lines/bands. It is interesting and important that the emission color and intensities of europium-doped various phosphors which consist of aluminosilicate matrices prepared under atmospheric air conditions could be modulated by changing the kinds of alkaline earth metal and the content of SiO2 .
